Dear ones,
LUtOPIA grew in ways we never dreamed of when we started our project, more than 5 years ago...
2014 rushed over us with many good news and exciting fresh projects (we're building a new website and started a new blog on Tumblr, the coolest place to be :)
If you'd like to stay in touch, know all our secrets and be updated about our latest adventures, we also created our very first user-friendly newsletter.

I am proud to mention that this beautiful drawing was made especially for our new subscribers, by George Roșu!

We're alive! Sorry for the long break...
Well, it has been quite a long time since my last update on this blog, but a lot has happened since... :)
First off, a quite challenging older project* ended my sabbatical and my profession took over my life, once again. Sometimes I think Architecture is a disease, indeed: it comes with serious side effects like not having any time for yourself, being completely sucked into her moods, sleepless nights of work and stress, you name it. But then again, it can do so much good that you simply can't refuse her call.
Thankfully, friends of LUtOPIA continued to send in cute drawings of Lutopians-asking-to-be-born! This kept alive a steady stream of creativity, and we'll continue to share with you the results.
Another great news is that two blonde angels, E + L, have been generously sharing their talents and time and helped with creating many of the newborn Lutopians: our sewing bees are so much fun and I am very grateful for that!
If you have any questions, drawings or ideas to share, feel free to send us an email at contact@lutopia.ro, at any time.
So, I'll be back with some new and exciting lutopian goodness :)

Online Charity Auction*
Dear friends,
Out of our creative collaboration with the owners of the deScris Penshop in Cluj, five Lutopians were born, and they have been decorating their shopwindow after the opening.
Now that the lutopians are looking for a new home, You are invited to participate in our Online Charity Auction* so that you can make a Unique, Hand-Made Christmas gift for someone you love. (They will also receive a copy of the original drawing).
The auction is taking place between 6 - 16th december 2012, so that the package can be delivered right under your Christmas tree.
*THE DONATION WILL BE DIRECTED 100% into the account of the Little People Association in Ro, which, since 1995, is making efforts to create a better life for the children who fight against cancer.
ps: please share this with your friends!
Last night, we were blessed
...with the most honest, heart-melting feedback on our work that I could ever dream of: right as we finished the last details on the shopwindow design, a 4 year old child passed by on his three wheeled blue bike.
After a heel-brake, he left his "horse" right in front, rushed inside, opened the glass door and tried to grab some of the objects we made. An embarrased father rushed in, grabbed him out and left us all floating in angel dust clouds :))

the White Nest
Drum roll, please! We are glad to announce that we're working on a Surprise Project - quite important to us because it's all about Lutopians flying out of their nest for the first time...directly into a shopwindow :)
Also, we consider this to be tOM's first solo exhibition, on which we had the pleasure to collaborate with the talented Emese Apai: her calm nature and her tailoring skills have been especially helpful these days!
..many thanks go to her dog, Buksi, who wiped our floors clean every evening :) |
